YFY Launches Smart Warehousing Project to Strengthen Digital Operations in Corrugated Packaging

August 21,2026

YFY Paper officially launched its smart warehousing project at its Nanjing facility on August 18. The new system connects corrugated board production, storage, order picking, shipping, and empty-pallet return in one coordinated logistics flow, giving the factory greater visibility and control from production output to final dispatch.

Representatives from YFY, DELIECN, and project partners attended the inauguration ceremony. During the event, YFY Nanjing was recognized as a “Smart Warehousing and Digitalization Demonstration Factory for the Corrugated Packaging Industry.”    smart warehousing project

Supporting More Responsive and Reliable Operations

As corrugated packaging manufacturers face shorter delivery cycles, changing workforce structures, and growing pressure to improve quality and sustainability, warehouse logistics has become increasingly important to overall production performance.

For YFY Nanjing, the objective was not simply to replace manual handling with automated equipment. The project was designed to connect previously separate operating stages and create a more stable logistics foundation for order fulfillment, inventory traceability, and continuous production.

The solution integrates pallet four-way shuttle robots, pallet latent AMRs, pallet fork AMRs, WMS, WCS, and a 3D visualized central control system. Together, these technologies coordinate material movement from the production line through storage and order picking to outbound shipping, while also automating the return of empty pallets.

The system now supports more than 3,000 pallet transfers per day, operates continuously on a 24/7 basis, and has achieved zero cargo damage since entering operation. This gives YFY Nanjing a more reliable way to respond to order changes while maintaining product quality and delivery stability.

Connecting Equipment, Systems, and Information

A central requirement of the project was to ensure that automation could operate as part of the factory’s broader digital environment.

The smart warehousing system connects on-site equipment with YFY’s backend systems and information flows, including ERP and FEMS. WMS manages inventory and warehouse tasks, while WCS coordinates the automated equipment and execution sequence across different operating areas.

This system-level integration enables production, warehousing, and shipping processes to operate as a connected workflow rather than as isolated functions. It also provides YFY with practical experience that can support the future introduction of smart logistics systems at other facilities.

Real-Time Visibility Through Digital Twin Technology

The project also includes a 3D visualized central control system based on digital twin technology.

Equipment locations, task progress, inventory status, material information, fault alerts, and maintenance records are displayed on one platform. Operators can monitor and trace the status of production transfer, storage, transport, picking, shipping, and empty-pallet return without switching between multiple systems.

This real-time visibility helps the factory identify abnormal conditions more quickly, understand the impact on downstream operations, and make more informed decisions in scheduling and maintenance. Historical operating data can also support preventive maintenance and continuous process improvement.

The platform has been designed with scalability in mind, providing a foundation for future AI-based analysis, risk prediction, and operational optimization.

Collaboration Accelerates Project Delivery

The project required close coordination among YFY’s management teams, the Nanjing factory, its Taipei IT team, DELIECN, and other project partners.

Despite a tight schedule, multiple system interfaces, and demanding on-site implementation requirements, the teams completed planning, engineering, installation, integration, and commissioning in close collaboration. The system reached operational readiness three months ahead of the original schedule.

During the handover ceremony, YFY presented DELIECN with a Plaque of Appreciation, recognizing the project team’s contribution throughout solution planning, implementation, system integration, and go-live support.

DELIECN will continue to support YFY Nanjing through equipment maintenance, system assurance, and operational optimization to help sustain long-term system performance.

A Practical Reference for Corrugated Packaging

The project demonstrates how automated handling, high-density storage, software-based coordination, and visualized management can be applied to the specific operating requirements of corrugated packaging production.

Rather than focusing on automation as a collection of individual machines, YFY Nanjing has built a connected operational system that supports faster order response, clearer inventory traceability, stable product handling, and more dependable delivery.

For the corrugated packaging industry, the project provides a practical example of how warehouse automation and digital technology can strengthen manufacturing operations and create a scalable foundation for future growth.
