Learn MoreFor manufacturers of finished goods, warehouse requirements are often more complex than simply increasing storage capacity.
Products may be produced in large batches, while customer orders can vary significantly in quantity and delivery frequency.
This means the warehouse needs to balance two requirements:
storing large volumes of finished products efficiently.
retrieving different quantities according to actual order demand.
This project was developed for a stainless steel kitchenware manufacturer.
With increasing production output and growing finished goods inbound and outbound requirements, the client introduced a DELIECN Pallet Four-Way Shuttle AS/RS solution to improve storage density, material handling efficiency and warehouse management.
Finished goods warehouses usually have different operating patterns compared with raw material warehouses.
Large production batches require sufficient storage capacity, while customer orders require flexible retrieval.
Based on the product characteristics and operational requirements, DELIECN designed a pallet shuttle storage system including:
• Pallet Four-Way Shuttle Robots
• Pallet Lifters
• conveyors
• Pallet Four-Way Shuttle AS/RS racking
• WMS/WCS systems
The system organizes pallet storage and retrieval through automated equipment and warehouse control software, helping the client manage finished goods more efficiently.
The project is designed with approximately 2,512 pallet storage locations.
The rack system reaches approximately 8.245 meters in height with 4 storage levels, allowing finished products to be stored vertically instead of relying on traditional floor storage.
The Pallet Four-Way Shuttle AS/RS architecture provides flexible pallet movement inside the rack.
Compared with conventional single-direction shuttle systems, four-way shuttle technology allows robots to travel in both main and sub-aisle directions, improving flexibility when storage and retrieval tasks change.
A finished goods warehouse does not always operate with the same order rhythm.
Some products may be produced in large quantities and stored for future shipment.
Other products may require smaller batches and more frequent retrieval.
The system configuration allows storage strategies to be adjusted according to product turnover and order requirements.
Through WMS/WCS coordination:
• storage locations can be assigned according to inventory strategy.
• retrieval tasks can be prioritized according to order requirements.
• shuttle resources can be scheduled according to warehouse operation needs.
This helps balance storage density and daily operating flexibility.
A Pallet Four-Way Shuttle AS/RS system depends on more than the shuttle robot itself.
The shuttle robots handle horizontal movement inside the rack system.
Pallet Lifters provide vertical transfer between different levels.
Conveyors connect storage areas with inbound and outbound stations.
WCS coordinates equipment tasks to ensure that different components work together as one system.
This equipment coordination is important for finished goods warehouses where storage and shipment activities happen continuously.
The project is designed for a combined inbound and outbound handling capacity of approximately 480 pallets/day.
The actual operation depends on multiple factors, including production rhythm, order structure, conveyor connection and warehouse management strategy.
Instead of focusing only on maximum equipment speed, the system design considers how finished products are actually stored and retrieved during daily operation.
The WMS manages inventory information, storage locations and inbound/outbound tasks.
The WCS controls the execution of equipment operations, including:
• Pallet Four-Way Shuttle Robots
• Pallet Lifters
• conveyors
Through software coordination, warehouse tasks can be assigned according to product information and operational requirements.
This provides more accurate inventory management and improves visibility of finished goods movement.
The Jiangmen Haoying project shows that high-density storage is not only about adding more pallet positions.
For finished goods manufacturers, the warehouse also needs to match production output, inventory turnover and customer delivery requirements.
By combining Pallet Four-Way Shuttle Robots, automated vertical transfer and warehouse management software, the system provides a flexible solution for finished goods storage.
The key consideration is not only how many pallets a warehouse can store.
It is whether the storage system supports the way products actually move through the business.
